In this episode, we'll be in the Halstead photo studio talking about some great tips for taking quality jewelry photography with tripods. Learn about this essential piece of photography equipment.

In part 1 of this series, we’ll take a look at jewelry photography tripod options. Tripods are an essential part of quality photography. They keep your camera steady so your photos are crisp, clear and detailed. Having quality jewelry and product photography conveys a sense of value to your audience and potential customers.

Jewelry Photography Tripods:

Tabletop – This is a small, inexpensive tripod option that can be used with point-and-shoot and DSLR cameras. Height and camera options may be limited though.

Full Length – These tripods have a variety of features including great stability and a large range of heights. Although this may be a more expensive option, this is a great investment for any situation that might arise in your photography. The tripod we chose for our studio is the Manfrotto 055XPROB with a tilting center column. This is a unique feature for the tripod market.

Ball Head – This top segment for a full length tripod is an important attachment. It attaches your camera securely to the tripod and gives you full flexibility of pan and tilt options. If your tripod doesn’t already come with one, you’ll want to purchase a quality product.
