This year was bittersweet at Halstead. On the positive side, we were very fortunate to see substantial recovery from the recession. Business has been strong and metals markets are more stable than they have been for years. We feel very blessed to have fantastic clients, colleagues and vendors. It is heartwarming to hear from so many long-time customers that things are getting better once again. The jewelry market is rebounding and there is light at the end of the tunnel for many struggling small businesses. There is a lot to be grateful for in 2012.
On the flip side, members of our team faced a bizarre number of personal crises that made us all feel a bit like the Bad News Bears over the last twelve months. Seriously, how many things can go wrong in one year? Just when we thought things couldn’t get any crazier we were hit with new challenges this month. I think we are all eager to put 2012 behind us.
This year, as our team scrambled left, then right, then up, down and sideways to cover for one another as the hits kept coming we were reminded of what a great group of co-workers we all have. People here do not hesitate to help each other. Moreover, their dedication to serving customers is incredible. It is inspiring to be surrounded by people who are such smart, capable, good human beings.
We will be closed for our annual winter break December 22 – January 1 so we can be with our families for the holidays. Please place your final orders for the year by noon on Friday, Dec. 21. Orders received over the break will ship when we re-open on Wednesday, Jan. 2.
We wish all of you a fantastic holiday season. We appreciate your business and look forward to working with you in 2013. Enjoy the season!
